Blunch: Tomato and Boursin Cheese on a Bagel

A little Boursin cheese goes a long way. Well, I guess this is sort of a lot of Boursin.

Location: 59 East Springfield Street, South End

Price Range: $5 – $10 for sandwiches. My bagel was around $4.

Sometimes, all it takes is a good breakfast.

I was having one of those terrible, awful, no-good-very-bad days/weeks when I stumbled upon Blunch. Clever name, adorable corner-store location, little pots full of white daisies on the counters, FRESH BAGELS.

I had just lugged myself out of bed and over to Boston Medical for an appointment that had been cancelled on me, missed my bus to class, and I needed a bagel, goddamnit.

Theirs are from Zeppy’s in Randolph, MA, and they’re deliciously soft and chewy and grilled just right in this perfect criss-cross that makes everything on them approximately 100 times more delicious. Not that the fresh tomato and homemade Boursin cheese spread needed much help.
